Walla Walla Community College removes barriers to access, provides high quality educational experiences, and facilitates equitable learning and success to cultivate thriving rural communities.

We value learning and encourage everyone to acquire a rich and wide body of knowledge and skills, as well as a passion for their chosen discipline. We provide an environment that fosters active learning and the support services necessary to help everyone achieve their potential. Our actions focus on expanding student access, retention, completion, and success, both inside and outside of the classroom.		We strive to achieve equity for students and for all members of the communities we serve. We are committed to dismantling or overcoming barriers that separate people from opportunities. Such barriers include, but are not limited to: socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, gender expression/identity, sexual orientation, belief system, physical/mental abilities, and experience with the educational system.

Institutional Learning Outcomes

At Walla Walla Community College, institutional learning outcomes (ILOs) represent essential skills that support the success and achievement of every student, both personally and professionally. Institutional learning outcomes align with the college’s mission, are woven throughout the curriculum regardless of program or field of study, and reflect the core competencies of every graduate.

WWCC’s Institutional Learning Outcomes are:

Communication: Graduates have the ability to create meaning and enhance understanding between author and audience by listening, reading, speaking, and writing effectively. (Communication Rubric)
Community Engagement: Graduates are able to express the value of cultural differences and commonalities among people and engage with others in the learning environment and community with respect for those differences. (Community Engagement Rubric)
Critical Thinking: Graduates engage in the comprehensive exploration of ideas, issues, artifacts, and experiences across college disciplines that transfer to new, complex situations within and beyond the campus. Information Literacy and Technology: Graduates use current technology and data to accomplish tasks.
