Crenshaw, an Executive Chef, brings a wealth of experience from Walla Walla Valley restaurants

Jacob Crenshaw

WALLA WALLA, WASH.  – Highly regarded local chef Jacob Crenshaw will become the new Director of Culinary Arts at Walla Walla Community College.

Crenshaw joins WWCC after two years serving as Executive Chef at The Kitchen at Abeja Winery. His extensive experience in the region’s restaurant and hospitality industry includes the Philosophers Stone Workshop, Eritage Resort and the Olive Marketplace & Café.

WWCC’s Wine Country Culinary Institute prepares students for careers in the hospitality industry offering hands-on cooking instruction and business skills that students need to become successful cooks, chefs, restaurant managers or caterers. Students can earn an associate degree in Culinary Arts as well as participate in WWCC’s cross-disciplinary Farm to Fork program.

“One of the greatest joys in my career has been watching the development of upcoming chefs who I’ve trained and mentored,” Crenshaw said. “I’ve watched WWCC’s culinary program for the last 16 years and have been impressed in the growth and quality of its students.”

Crenshaw was selected by a search committee that included members from the hospitality industry. He begins his new job on May 22.

“We are excited to welcome Jacob Crenshaw to Walla Walla Community College,” President Chad Hickox said. “I am confident he will be an inspiration for our students, as well as a great leader of our Culinary Arts programming and its continued integration with the college’s agriculture, Farm to Fork, and wine programs.”
