William A. Grant Water & Environmental Center

"Education and Collaboration"

The WWCC Water & Environmental Center focuses on collaboration and education for environmental and economic sustainability.  WEC facilitates regional and local partnership programs, provides community and K-12 education opportunities, and coordinates the WWCC Watershed Ecology degree program, campus sustainability, and "Go Green Club" activities.

Professional Technical Education



Walla Walla Community College offers a number of degree and certificate options in Water Technologies & Management including:

  • Watershed Ecology (AAAS degree)

  • Water Resources Technology (AAAS and AAST degree)

  • Irrigation Technology (AAAS degree)

  • Irrigation Service Certificate (6 months certification)




The WEC cooperates with all interested parties to create an academic and community-based learning environment.  The WEC provides resources and links to other organizations both online and on campus, with spaces leased by local and state governmental agencies, local non-profit organizations, and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.



Visiting the WEC:

The WEC is open to visitors during the following hours:
September to mid-June
          8am-5pm Monday-Friday
Mid-June to August
          7:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday

Stop by the WEC to learn about solar power, worm composting, stream restoration, the campanile, or to walk the interpretive trails around the Center.

On December 1 , 2010, the Water & Environmental Center was announced as a winner of the 2010 Workforce and Economic Development Best Practices Award  by Gov. Gregoire.
